¿Qué es IMEI?
IMEI es un código de verificación único y exclusivo para dispositivos móviles GSM. Son las siglas de International Mobile System Equipment Identity. Es un número de 15 dígitos pre grabado en los móviles que nos permite comprobar cierta información inherente a la fabricación y distribución del mismo, como la red, el sistema, país de procedencia, marca y más.
El IMEI ayuda a distinguir a todos los móviles GSM. Gracias a sus características de exclusividad permite crear una lista negra para alertar a las personas y potenciales compradores de celulares usados si está reportado como extraviado o robado. También funge como código de bloqueo cuando deseas inhabilitar las llamadas y mensajes del dispositivo a través de la operadora, una vez que lo reportas como perdido o robado.
El encargado de asignar el código internacional de identidad IMEI es la TAC. Habitualmente suele estar compuesto de 15 dígitos, aunque hay algunos modelos con 17. Se utiliza solo en teléfonos GSM. Aquellos CDMA usan el código MEID.
¿Cómo consultar IMEI Colombia?
Si estás en Colombia, y quieres comprar un celular nuevo usado a una persona desconocida, e incluso a las tiendas oficiales, es importante consultar primero el IMEI.
¿Por qué? Sencillo: así sabes el estado del dispositivo. Es clave para evitarse problemas adquiriendo un móvil reportado como robado y extraviado.
En Colombia puedes usar la página de STRM para comprobar el estado del equipo. Todo lo que tienes que hacer es ingresar el IMEI en el formulario, la herramienta comenzará a buscar entre la base de datos y, cuando completes el catcha, tendrás la respuesta que estás buscando.
Registrar IMEI Colombia es un proceso fácil y sencillo. No te tomará demasiado tiempo y te sacará de problemas innecesarios con la ley, puesto que el comercio de celulares robados en Colombia no hace más que aumentar, y lo que parece una oportunidad de compra y ahorro, puede ser un dolor de cabeza más adelante.
¿Cómo saber el IMEI?
Ahora que sabes cómo consultar IMEI Colombia, quizás tengas otra pregunta rondando en tu cabeza: ¿y cómo sé cuál es el IMEI del teléfono? Hay varias opciones, así que anota cada una y usa la que te dé resultado y solucione tus problemas:
- Abre la aplicación de teléfono en tu dispositivo móvil y marca *#06#. Automáticamente, te aparecerá el número de IMEI del dispositivo.
- Ve a la aplicación de configuraciones del equipo, presiona en ‘acerca del teléfono’ y busca el número de IMEI.
Estas dos alternativas son las mejores a la hora de consultar IMEI, puesto que el equipo no te mostrará información errónea o manipulada. Cosa que los delincuentes están haciendo en Colombia: mostrarte un IMEI falso que no corresponde al equipo.
Las siguientes son otras vías que existen para checar IMEI Colombia, en caso de que no puedas encender el móvil:
- Revisa la batería del móvil. Algunos modelos tienen la información de IMEI grabado.
- Busca en el empaque del equipo. Los fabricantes suelen agregar la secuencia internacional de verificación entre los papeles del teléfono.
- Revisa la bandeja de SIM. Suelen tener grabado el número de IMEI en los extremos.
